FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 10, 2007 -Alaska DigiTel Brings on New Team to Manage Corporate Growth
Alaska DigiTel Wireless Communications has made changes in its management team to handle the rapid growth the company plans in 2007. The newly appointed management team will guide the wireless company in its aggressive market expansion throughout Alaska over the next several years.
Jeff Roe, newly appointed Chief Operating Officer and a veteran in the telecommunications industry, has been selected to lead Alaska DigiTel in the next phase of the company’s growth. Roe will guide the continued expansion of the wireless carrier into the new markets of Fairbanks and Kenai in 2007, as well as improvements in its existing networks servicing Anchorage, Mat-Su, and Juneau. Roe originally came to Alaska in 1978 while with Motorola, Inc. He was Vice President at GCI until relocating to Seattle in 1991, where he held executive positions with Teleport Communications Group, AT&T, and GST Telecommunications. Returning to Alaska in 2002, Roe was mostly recently Vice President, Sales at AT&T Alascom.
“This is a critical time for Alaska DigiTel, and I feel confident that we have the management team to make things happen. The investment the company will be making across the state will quickly bring this wireless company into direct head-to-head competition with the other statewide wireless phone carriers...and we couldn’t be more excited at the prospect,” stated Roe. Richard Dresse has been hired as the new Director of Engineering for Alaska DigiTel.
Dresse, former Director of Engineering at Sprint, has come to the company to facilitate the expansion of Alaska DigiTel’s footprint in Alaska. Dresse, who has been with the company for several months, has been successful in expanding coverage into the Kenai and parts of the Mat-Su Valley. Besides the expansion, he and his team are optimizing the current networks in Anchorage, Eagle River, Mat-Su Valley and Juneau. “I look forward to focusing our engineering efforts in the coming months to advance the expansion in the Kenai, Fairbanks and Juneau markets,” noted Dresse.
Sean Elder joined the new management team as Director of Sales. Formerly, he was Director of Sales at Corporate Express Anchorage. Elder has taken the responsibilities for retail, commercial business sales, and other divisions of the company. His knowledge of the local business sector will help the wireless company broaden its presence throughout the state. He will help with the hiring and directing of the new retail stores in Kenai and Fairbanks, along with the expansion of the stores in Anchorage.
“The Indirect market has been very successful for Alaska DigiTel. With the synergy of this new team, we will guide the company to new growth in markets across the state, creating a highly competitive environment in the wireless communications industry,” said Elder.
Thomas Studer is the new Director of Sales and Marketing, and has been with the company for nearly four years. Thomas is charged with increasing the company’s brand awareness in the Alaska market. Studer will be overseeing all advertising and promotions for the wireless carrier, and will manage all new branding campaigns. Studer will also be analyzing, pricing and introducing new wireless products and technologies in the Alaska market. “Alaskans deserve the most cutting-edge wireless communications tools and services, and we aim to be the company that can provide this. The wireless products we offer are tailor-made for the Alaska marketplace, as that is our only focus. We love being the company that fits right in with the Alaska lifestyle,” claimed Studer.
